FAQ

1. Who can make a referral?

Anyone involved in your care, including family members, can make a referral. However, to access Medicare rebates, these referrals should be made by a GP, Medical Specialist or Nurse Practitioner. A referral from your GP or nurse practitioner is valid for 12 months, and a specialist referral is valid for 3 months.

3. What will happen after you receive the referral?

After receiving the referral, our doctor will triage it and, if suitable, our staff will contact you within 48 Working hours to organise an appointment.

4. What is the Fee?

GC specialists Clinic is a private billing clinic. Please contact our clinic to discuss fees, rebates, and any concessions that may be applicable.

Full settlement of patient accounts is required on the day of attendance. We accept payment by cash, credit card & debit card.

5. Is there any rebate?

If and when eligible, your Medicare rebate can be claimed at our reception after your appointment upon settlement of accounts and reimbursed directly into a designated account.

6. What if I cancel/reschedule my appointment?

Patient care is of the utmost importance to us. To provide all patients with the best care, we require at least 48 hours of notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Late cancellations (within 48 hours) and non-attendance at appointments will incur a full cancellation fee. Please note that cancellation and non-attendance fees cannot be claimed from Medicare.

7. What if I need a report?

Yes, we are here to assist you; however, an appointment may be necessary, and additional fees may apply for any reports or forms submitted outside of the scheduled appointment time.

8. I have a previous diagnosis of ADHD/ASD, but I do not have records of the diagnosis.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to endorse the diagnosis in that circumstance and will need to be reassessed by one of our specialists.

ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are neurodevelopmental conditions. Your specialist is required to establish their presence in your childhood. It is therefore necessary to speak with an informant such as a parent, carer or sibling for collateral information on your early development. School reports play a vital role in the assessment process.

Please note that the assessment for ADHD or ASD cannot be offered without collateral information.

9. Where do I park my vehicle?

There is a 2-hour open-air parking space for visitors available in front of the building within the premises.
